New Mac Application may bring News Readers and RSS to many more
Perhaps you’ve heard about the newest addition to the Mac OS X News Reader application pool.
Times brings your Really Simple Syndication (RSS) into a layout very uncommon among the current world of RSS readers. That layout is simply that of a standard newspaper.
This breaks the mold against the normal list centered applications we’ve been seeing for years.
I have not personally tried Times, although it is on my list of things to do, but I felt the need to comment simply because it is such a refreshing change from the common.
Additionally, I think this application has the potential to open up RSS to those who have not experienced it yet. Because of its similarity to reading a normal newspaper, it could potentially be a great way for someone to try out RSS.
I don’t think I’ll be able to switch to it completely, mainly because I rely on Google Reader so that I can access my feeds from anywhere, as well as share articles with my friends who also use Google Reader.
